Had an interesting conversation with fiat dealer from Germany, he recommended AmsOil gear oil ( 0W-40) for the manual transmission. They tested 7 different synthetics and the best result after one year was this product, no metallic particles, and reduced gear drag. For some fiat models this could help with the gearing wear because of the high ratios.

0W40 låter inte som en växellådsolja ens. Borde den inte heta 75W90 eller nåt liknande. Det skulle vara intressant att se testen ifråga. Inte för jag vet något om Amsoil men det låter ju inte så imponerade att testa i ett år, såpass ska väl de flesta växellådor klara att gå utan påvisbart slitage ?

Håller med om att Omegas växellådsolja är perfekt, speciellt om man har den gamla lådan med högt liggande 5:e växeln (Fiat).Lite dyrare,men vad kostar det när lådan rasar?

Actually it was intended for high speed MC gear boxes, talked to several people in the States that have used it with good results ( Fiat), holds up under heat, doesn't lose its viscosity. ( thus the 0W- SAE rating) Its one of the better synthetic oils on the market.
